If you're looking for things to do with your child involving the arts...you are in the right spot!
Here are some suggestions:
Kalamazoo Institute of Arts (KIA):
Kalamazoo is incredibly lucky to have the KIA!! Not only is it an excellent art museum but it also has a children's maker space where kids can be creative! It is how I am slowly setting up our art room.
The second Saturday of each month is a FREE children's program from 11-noon!
This month - Art Detectives--Splashes of ColorDates: Sat Feb 13, 16 Time: 11:00am - 12:00pm
Web Address:

The KIA also offers excellent art classes and camps for children and adults. I've taken a class there and highly recommend it!
Kalamazoo Valley Museum: /
This is a fun hands on museum downtown. There are spots within teh museum to create, but if you go to their website, you will find events like the following available for free:
MONSTER MADNESS! Free, February 20, 2016
1-4 p.m. Sat
Get your scare on with our Goose Bumps! The Science of Fear exhibit and Monster Madness, a family-friendly hands-on art program.
Young Rembrandts :http://www.youngrembrandts.com/greaterkalamazoo/default/
Classes have been offered here at Mattawan schools. This is guided drawing instruction. Drawing is the fundamental skill of the visual arts that can - and should - be learned by all children.Young Rembrandts teaches the drawing skills children need while developing learning skills that give children an academic advantage in the classroom.
